About Us

Old Low Moor Farm Cottages is situated in beautiful countryside overlooking the Hambleton Hills on the edge of the North York Moors National Park but with easy access also to Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are located just outside the village of Knayton, approximately 4 miles from the historic market town of Thirsk (home of James Herriot and the Yorkshire Vet) and some 5 miles from the County Town of Northallerton (home to Barkers Department Store and a branch of the famous Betty’s café).

The owners, Karen and Jeff, moved to Old Low Moor Farm from Hertfordshire in 2014. Since then they have been busy converting the old farm buildings on the site into four luxury holiday cottages, as well as building a large stable block and ménage and enlarging a small pond to form a brand new coarse fishing lake.

There are four cottages available for rental, two 2 bedroom cottages, the Mistal and the Shippen and two 1 bedroom cottages, the Granary and the Byre.  The Shippen is wheelchair accessible and we welcome wheelchair users.

All bookings from this site are made through the Holiday Lettings/TripAdvisor website which offers payment protection for your deposit and balance monies and gives peace of mind for any guests who haven’t visited us before.
