We have just returned from a three day break at this wonderful place. This was our third stay, with each one as enjoyable as the last. The Shippen is ideal for us, as my wife has limited mobility, and everything is geared up for ease of use. The entrance door is wide enough to pass through with a wheelchair, with plenty of space inside for manoeuvring. Everything is on one level. If required a shower seat is provided, along with a grab handle which secures with suckers. The kitchen is fully equipped, the sitting area is comfortable and especially cosy with the log burning stove blazing away. On arrival, the property was lovely and warm from the underfloor heating, and we were greeted with a a lovely Christmas tree and some seasonal decorations. Really welcoming. This really is a lovely place. Jeff, the owner, is the friendliest and most helpful host. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, in a convenient place for visiting the East Coast, or the North Yorkshire National Park, you really should try it . You won’t be disappointed.
